In 2006 Calabazas Cyclery, joined together with the city of San Jose to rebuild the bike park, since it had been closed for two years. It was closed because a 16 year old kid got hurt while riding at Calabazas Bike Park. His dad tried to sue the city for his sons injuries. He ended up closing the park, it kept the daily bikers to not have any places to ride. So the city decided they really needed to do something about this. So they decided to recreate the park and make it safer for the riders and the community. Now many bikers ride there everyday. It is called Calabazas BMX Bike Park located in San Jose, California.
