Around the Track: A Senior Narrative Book Jacket by Alan Enecial (2014)

For the book jacket we created for our Narrative story we wrote in English, I used both Adobe Photoshop and InDesign to create it. First, I took the dimensions of each section of the book jacket in the InDesign template given to us by Ms. Parkinson. Instead of creating and designing the jacket in solely InDesign, I chose to make the book jacket in Photoshop because I am more proficient with it compared to InDesign. Then for the background, I took a picture of some tan paper I had and chopped it up in Photoshop using the Selection Tool. I then pasted in each section of the jacket. For the text, I used a mix of a font I found on the internet and manually written text using the Pencil Tool. My goal for this project was to make it minimalistic. I wanted to design the book to be appealing for both a mature and young minded audience.
