Dr. Phil Stickers: A Junior Illustration Project by Eva Cross (2020)

The Illustrator project was really exciting because we were given a wide range of options of what we could create, so we got to use Illustrator for something we actually wanted to make. I chose to design a sheet of stickers so I could use them to decorate my water bottle. When deciding on a theme, I wanted to make something that I wanted to own but could not buy from a store, so I decided to make Dr. Phil themed stickers. I chose my favorite photos of Phil McGraw, and then used the pen and brush tools in Illustrator to recreate them.

I valued this project because I was able to further develop my Illustrator skills, and by the end of the project I was a lot more comfortable with the tools, and more familiar with the differences between Photoshop and Illustrator. With my Dr. Phil stickers, I wanted to convey my appreciation for the many sides of Dr. Phil, so I designed my stickers to show his anger, his passion, his helpfulness, and his distinctive and amazing appearance.
