Food as an Art and the Story Behind Those Who Make It
This is the book I made in Design class. It includes my favorite out of hundreds of photos I took and my research paper about food as an art and the careers of pastry chefs for English class. The process was very long and tedious but the product is very exciting and noteable! After many interviews, pictures taken then edited in Photoshop, research recorded and hours of writing, and learning how to use InDesign, this product was made! It includes the entire text of my nine page research paper including a table of contents, foreword, introduction, and two chapters: the first about the life and work of pastry chefs, and the second about food as an art and the art of cake decorating. All the photographs were all taken at where I work, at Satura Cakes in Los Altos. They are all of the chefs working there, or the beautiful cakes they create with the exception of my step aunt Salmah who sent me her pictures because I couldn't go to the East Coast to see her for myself. I really enjoyed coming up with the design and page layouts, but the pictures chosen to be in it are my favorite part. It's something I am very proud of and hope you all enjoy it as much as I do and learn as much as I did!
