From 2014 to 2015, I produced four different websites at Freestyle Academy, all with different designs. Each website had a different theme to fit the content. In these websites, you will see podcasts, original photos, various graphic designs, illustrations, narrative animations, music projects, blogs, an audio documentary, printed book and even an animated poem. I think that if you have a good concept or idea, you should go with it and do whatever you can to make it happen.
I came into Freestyle academy with no knowledge or Web Design or Audio Production, and I have learned a lot in the past year: how to operate and carry out projects using Garageband, Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Pro Tools, Reason, HTML, CSS, Javascript and ActionScript. I now know how much time it takes to make music, record, and produce websites. I have a lot more to learn, but I have the basics now. I really look forward to learning about new programs and more about how to do these things, unlike my interest in regular high school subjects.
At Freestyle Academy, I have learned that I can be myself around others and get help when I need it. The skills I learn at Freestyle will help me later in life because a lot of them are just everyday life skills. I also plan on taking up a career in music production, so the applications we use in Audio Production will help me tremendously.
