Welcome to my FANTASTIC Website!

Hello viewers! I am Maxwell James Evans the First, at your service. This is my FANTASTIC Self-Portrait section of my website that I created in my Web/Audio class in Freestyle Academy. Please, click around and explore to your heart's content to learn all about my wonderful self.

For this website, I decided to go with a nice Mario/8-bit theme. I have pretty much spent all of my freetime in life playing video games, so I felt it was just to make the about-me section about something that has completely filled my life. While I don't enjoy Mario games a ton more than certain other games, I felt it was well known and would get the message across about what I enjoy. The backgrounds and the buttons are all block-like because I thought that might make it seem 8-bit. The buttons are the classic "?" blocks from Mario games as well.

To create this website, I had to take pieces from both my English and Design classes and put it into my Web/Audio class. In English, we created many of the projects seen here, such as the poem below, the essay, and a few other small bits. In design, I created anything artsy, like the illustration and the photogallery. Then, in Web/Audio, I put it all together to create the masterpiece you see before you. However, I also created the background and buttons of this website in Web/Audio, so we did do original things in that class. For the illustrations, we used a program called Adobe Illustrator. However, for pictures, we used Photoshop. The website was created in DreamWeaver.

Creating this website was pretty hard, if I do say so myself. I felt as if we didn't really have enough to fully create the websites we had envisioned. The deadlines came a lot faster than I could believe, so hopefully when I create the next section of my website it won't be so quickly made. Learning DreamWeaver took a while, unlike Photoshop and Illustrator which I felt I got the hang of pretty fast. Overall, my first real Freestyle Projects more or less met the requirements, so I suppose I made it out okay.

Tick-Tock

For this assignment, we had to create a nice little poem about ourselves. The poem had to be about something from a different project, which you can see by clicking the button, "Podcast". In that project, we created a list of 10 things that we had learned so far in our life. The poem had to be based on one of those things, and I chose #5, which is "Time wasted having fun is not time wasted". Then, for homework, we typed the poem up on Photoshop and decorated it a bit. In Web/Audio, we put it onto our website, which you can see below.
