10 Things I've Learned In My Life

In English we were asked to create a list titled "10 Things I've Learned In My Life". In WebAudio, we further enhanced the assignment by creating a podcast. This was our first podcast of the year and (for many of us) the first exposure to programs like Flash. I definitely learned a lot during this process & had a lot of fun as well!

  1. Never apologize for the way you feel.
  2. You’re under no obligation to be who you were five minutes ago. Especially if you don’t like who you were five minutes ago.
  3. Absolutely fight fire with fire.
  4. Hindi music is always therapeutic.
  5. From 14 to 22 you meet a lot of temporary people.
  6. Cut out people who threaten your joy.
  7. It is not conceited to love yourself.
  8. You are worthy of, but not entitled to happiness and love.
  9. People say they love you all the time. Even when they say “watch your step” or “why didn’t you call me back”. Make sure you’re listening.
  10. You will be okay.

In English we were asked to write a list titled "10 Things I've Learned in My Life". In WebAudio we were asked to chose images that went with each of these statements and then create a podcast based on these statements. This was our first podcast of the year and it was created with a program called Adobe Flash. We chose images, recorded audio, created music and then imported these all into the Flash Library. We then dragged them into their respective scenes and after a bit of fiddling around, our podcast was finished. These statements are things I've learned over the course of my life & (hopefully) they'll offer a little more insight on who I am.

English Media Piece

After creating our list of 10 things, we were asked to choose one as our personal statement. I chose "it's not conceited to love yourself (alternatively "Don't apologize for the fierce love that you have for yourself"). In English we were then asked to create a media piece that represented our personal statement. I encourage you to look at it & form your own opinions/thoughts about it. After you do, there is audio of me explaining my piece and what it means to me below.
