“Go out and document an issue in our community! It’ll be fine, we swear!”
This project in particular is easily the most stressful, yet strangely fruitful project I have accomplished this year. We were given the task of going out and interacting with members of the community (Wow! I know, surprising right?) We then, in our respected elective, created a piece about our experience involving a current issue in said community. I’ve never had such a big fire lit underneath myself my entire life, and it really stresses how important pre-planning is. A schedule is very, very important (I should know, I didn’t stick to it and almost failed the class, but lesson learned, you know?), but in the end I got a result that I was satisfied with, and eventually will improve upon in my journey to succeed.

ELECTIVE PRODUCTION: DARK MATTER
Dark Matter is a short animation produced by myself featuring one of my interviewees, Jay Benson. Jay Benson, a scientist at NASA Ames, recounts his 35 days furloughed during the Government Shutdown in my later paper Frozen Fire: An Analysis on the Government Shutdown.

Cool, right? Well there’s a long process behind making Dark Matter, and here’s some progress screenshots I took along the way:
