About Me

photo of me with blue backgroundWelcome. My name is Simone Clements Leedeman, and I am currently a senior in high school attending Freestyle Academy of Communication Arts and Technology. In this program, I have learned so many new skills through my English, Digital Media, and Design classes. These skills will be showcased through projects on this website as I continue learning more throughout my last year.

The website you are currently viewing is something I have created myself through my Digital Media class, and features all of my project websites I have created throughout my junior year in Freestyle, including the Conceptual, Narrative, Documentary and Explorations websites as well as projects from my senior year. Each of these project websites includes different skills and subjects I have studied through all of my classes in Freestyle, using various tools including Pro Tools and Adobe applications such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

My experience at Freestyle has been incredible and has completely changed the way I look at school in general and what I create. During my sophomore year in high school, I was ready to give up on school. I was going through a difficult time in my life, and no longer felt motivation in school. When I met with my assistant principal to review my options to test out, I was surprised when she mentioned Freestyle. How could a digital art program help me feel motivated to continue in school for two more years. Nevertheless, I gave school one last chance and enrolled in classes for my Junior year. I believe that decision completely changed my life.

Starting my Junior year, I was nervous about being in Freestyle. Questions and doubts filled my head on the first day, but as the week progressed, they were soon forgotten as I realized that this program was what I needed to be motivated in school once again. Soon I began to feel like the time I spent at Freestyle wasn’t even a part of school, because I became so motivated about the work I was doing. The structure of the projects involving each class I was in, no tests or textbook work, and independence I had were all factors contributing to my motivation and passion for the work I did. Now that I am in my second and final year in Freestyle, I am excited for the projects that lie ahead.

Besides my work in Freestyle, I am very passionate about creating. Wether I am working on a piece of art or recording music, I am very driven by creativity and it is one of my biggest values. If you would like to observe some of my projects I have created outside of Freestyle, you can visit the Personal Projects page.
