My screenplay, Contracts, originally started out as a joke. I needed an idea to turn in, so I wrote down the first thing that came to my mind. And that happened to be a hitman who was a struggling author. Once I turned in the idea, I realized, "Well crap, now I actually have to write a 15 minute movie about this guy." And so I did.

It was actually a lot of fun. Creating the characters was a blast and since I had never written a screenplay before, it was a new, cool experiance. I did have trouble keeping the dialouge short and not cheesy. I also had difficulty ending the story, so it has a sort of weak ending.

For my screenplay illustration I tried to emulate a comic book look. So what I did was I took photos of my brother in the positions and backgrounds that I wanted for my illustration, and then imported them into Adobe Illustrator. I then traced over the photos with the pen tool, and I tried to restrict myself to using only 2 colors per object in the photo. Then I put text boxes around the panels and inserted excerpts from my screenplay. I think it turned out alright.
