Miramontaña

Miramontaña City Seal

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Miramontaña, California is a hub of technological advancement and change. The city is notable not only for the vast amount of tech companies that calls the city home, but also for one of the few DRISPA facilities in the nation. Over the course of the 21st century, this facility and the large amount of supernatural occurences in the region results in it becoming both a major tourist attraction and a major research site. The city is later the epicenter of The Catastrophe in 2099 resulting in its total obliteration. Five years later, the city of Nueva Miramontaña is founded as its replacement.

Nueva Miramontaña

Nueva Miramontaña City Seal

Founded five years after the Catastrophe, Nueva Miramontaña is the only major settlement for miles around and runs entirely on clean magical energy provided by crumans. The city is divided into three sectors, separated by concentric walls: Central Nueva Miramontaña, where the government and richest people live, Middle Nueva Miramontaña, where the middle-class lives, and Outer Nueva Miramontaña, where the crumans who power the city live. While those in the Central and Middle sectors live in relative luxury, there is little permanent infrastructure or protection in the Outer sector, leaving the residents to fend for themselves and defenseless to the Remnants that prowl the wastelands. The only times the Central and Middle sectors interact with the Outer sector is when the cru-handlers take the crumans into the Middle sector to power the city, as crumans are prevented from entering the inner sectors via their ankle bracelets, which also keep them from leaving the city by climbing over its large crumbling wall.

DRISPA

DRISPA Seal

The Department of Research and Intelligence on Supernatural Phenomena and Activities, or DRISPA for short, is a federal agency founded in the mid-19th century in order to monitor creature activity in the United States. They hired Caroline Sclepp as an agent in 90’s to keep an eye on Tom Spinner, who they believed was an example of a reincarnation. Upon capturing the Evil and learning that Tom Spinner was his descendant, they instructed Caroline to have children with Tom in order to use his children for experimentation to see if they can glean out magical powers from them. They later hired Tom Spinner to manage their servers in order to keep an eye on him, and eventually experimented on their three children when the oldest was ten years old. DRISPA has a facility in Miramontaña due to the large amount of supernatural activity occurring there. Besides the Spinner family, DRISPA also keeps an eye on the activities of Wraiths, the Fuchsia Phantasm, interdimensional activity, and Aisha Spirit and her allies.

Anti-Zone

Anti-Zone portal

A parallel world made entirely of antimatter, the Anti-Zone has been used by various magic users to imprison creatures for centuries. The Anti-Zone can also be used as a way to travel between dimensions if utilized correctly, as it connects to all known worlds. Portals to the anti-zone can be opened by Null-magic users but can also occur naturally, with them tending to open up near areas of high magic activity. Both the 「guardians」 and Aggie Hoxford originate from the Anti-Zone.
