The middle child of the Spinner family, Emma Spinner received the Evil as her brain’s resident at only eight years old. Now fourteen and having spent nearly half of her life having to suppress this demon, she now has to deal with her recent loss of control and the strange increase of supernatural threats to her hometown. Add onto the fact that she’s just starting high school, and it seems nearly impossible to properly manage her life! Luckily, she gains allies almost as quickly as she gains enemies, so she might just be able to keep up this superheroic double life.
A protector of Miramontaña that appeared within the last year, Aisha Spirit fights in order to protect the city from the supernatural threats that started appearing just as recently. With the power to manipulate antimatter, she has almost never failed to protect the city from harm. She has been seen interacting with other mysterious characters including Bang!, the Midnight Ninja, and the Fuchsia Phantasm.
Appearance
Emma is 5’4” and has fair skin, blue eyes, and dark brown hair in a bob. She typically wears black slip-ons, jeans, a plain shirt, and a dark blue hoodie. She wears a pair of glasses and a watch and bracelet on her right arm. As Aisha, using technology received from Serena Spook, she transforms her glasses into goggles, her pants into a mini skirt and shorts, her shirt into a tank top with her symbol, her jacket into fingerless opera gloves her bracelet into a belt full of equipment, and her goggles into an earpiece to communicate with her allies. Her goggles also put a hologram over her hair, causing it to appear a pale lavender instead of brown.
Powers and Abilities
Despite being human, Emma has the ability to use Null-magic due to DRISPA experimenting on her when she was eight years old. This experiment also gave the Evil access to her brain, so she has to constantly keep him in check and make sure he doesn’t take control. Emma is also skilled in science and technology, excelling in those classes and creating weapons and tools to help combat the creatures she fights. Emma is technically legless, having recently cut off her own legs when the Evil was in control of her brain. She now moves antimatter constructs in their place. This gives her the ability to fly by lifting up her legs, but would be unable to move with ease if her powers were ever negated.
Relationships
Emma has a strained relationship with Katani due to Emma's resistance to her attempts to control the school. She was close with Soren growing up, but drifted apart as they grew older and her responsibilities increased. Eventually she helps him with his emerging Time-magic abilities and they fight together as superheroes, though he is initially unaware that she is Aisha Spirit.
Emma loved her parents growing up but gained a negative view of them upon learning of their hand in the Evil's influence over her.
Emma does not care for Veronica and tries to avoid interacting with her. She enjoys Michael's company but isn't particularly close with him.
Emma accepted River's attempts at friendship in third grade shortly after her "flu shot", but sometimes has trouble reciprocating her extroversion. She helps out River on her blog Silicon Valley Spooks under the alias E.E., and while River often blogs about Aisha's exploits, she is initially unaware that she is Emma.
Upon hearing of the actions of the Midnight Ninja, Emma became extremely concerned for the vigilante's safety without any powers. Upon hearing of their training and the title's legacy, Aisha began working alongside the Midnight Ninja. Emma is aware of the Midnight Ninja's secret identity and keeps an eye on Newton's well-being. She works alongside Buzzkill on Florence's blog security, and later discovered he was Newton's friend Brendan. She has met Aggie in the past and is mostly unnerved by her more than anything else.
Emma encountered Dmitri during a battle and learned of his hatred of her, and now somewhat considers him a serious enemy due to his constant pestering. She meets Emmett after a particularly harsh battle and sees him as a possible ally, becoming shocked upon learning of his allegiance to Dmitri and his status as her clone. She's happy to see Emmett's eventual betrayal of Dmitri, but is saddened when he declines her invite to live with her family.
Near the end of her life, Emma recorded one message for Serena to deliver to Anna. She never meets her sister's descendant in person.
Emma first met Serena Spook the night after her accident, and while initially shocked by her sudden appearance, is grateful for the gear she delivered to help her become a superheroine. Serena often visits her throughout her teenage years to assist with various time stabilization assists.
The Evil first invaded Emma's brain at eight, and while she tried her best to suppress his urges, Emma eventually falls under his control one night and he uses her own hands to cut off her legs and then proceeding to go on a rampage. She then started suppressing him even further while also utilizing his excess powers to fight off the supernatural beings that were becoming attracted to Miramontaña by her actions.
