A webgem is some piece of content on the internet that doesn't recieve the attention it deserves. This page is devoted to webgems - each week I add a new item that I think should recieve more recognition.
12/13/2011 This site is SmashingLists.com. As the title implies, it is a site dedicated to smashing lists. It has all lists imaginable; just the first page has Top 10 Silent Comedians, 10 Exotic Forests Around the Globe, and 10 Movies That Should Never Get Remakes.
12/06/2011 This weeks site is CatchFree.com. This site provides an easy way to find the best programs and websites for various web-related activities, such as listening to music, and its rankings of sites are based on user comparisons.
12/01/2011 What with the holidays coming up, during which I do a lot of reading, this weeks webgem is book related. BookSeer.com is a site that helps decide what you want to read next. 10/24/2011 The website I have chosen this week is GrooveShark.com, a site that focuses on music sharing. On GrooveShark once you register an account you can both upload songs to the server as well as listen to any of the songs that have already been uploaded by other users. It allows you to stream this music inside a browser. The site is effective because it has enough of a following to have a large collection of music on its server. Its great because you can listen to whatever you want whenever your'e on the internet.
