Welcome to my Illustration page! Here you will find my illustration and information on the illustration project.

For our illustration project, we were told to create a picture using symbolism. Symbolism is when an object represents something bigger than its self. For example, a light bulb can represent a "bright idea."

Drive Free:

Freedom Diptych

In my Illustration, I depict an eagle with its wings spread across the sky. The eagles body morphs into a road, doubling as a tail for the bird. I used a gradient technique in the sky behind the bird to make it look more realistic. Notice the buildings in the background, and you will see that they give depth to the Illustration.

My Illustration represents how I feel free when I’m driving. The eagle communicates freedom, while the “tail” that appears as a road, symbolizes my love for driving. To emphasize the significance of the bird I created shadows on the eagle’s body to attract more interest in the main subject. In addition, I created a more realistic feel to my illustration by adding buildings on the horizon line. The buildings give my Illustration depth, as well as showing how an open road can take you wherever you want to go. To help communicate the significance of freedom in my illustration, I put the words “Freedom Drives You” on the buildings across the horizon to help the viewers interpret what I am trying to say.
