I believe in LA and and New York City
Blue Jean Baby, LA lady
I got honked at 9 times in one hour. My welcome to the city I moved to for the summer was 9 loud, rude, and shocking honks. I am not that terrible of a driver. I was moving into the dorms at UCLA, and into a completely new way of life for the summer. My first instinct was to take the first flight from LAX back home. The rumors about LA people being mean were seemingly true, and the rumors about the horrible traffic were definately true. Within my first weeks though, I discovered that LA wasn't all it was cracked up to be- in a good way. All of the stress it caused me was matched by amazing adventures, and all of the loneliness I often felt was made up for by the amazing people I met. Now that I am back home, my heart aches for LA and all of its insanity. I miss the long walks to westwood in my rainbow flip flops, the creepy men in venice beach, my cramped and stuffy dorm, and my inspirational american politics teacher.I miss how small I sometimes felt in such a big city. I miss sunset strip and having to take the bus to get anywhere. I miss my friends and the adventures I now reminsice on. I miss LA and all of the good and the bad that came with it. A city that at first intimidated me now comforts me. I can only hope that I get to return and call it home again.
