Ante
My illustration is meant to represent the story of a man caught up in the past, and who focuses on those bygone events. Wherever he goes he is caught up in the unpleasant recollections of a time in his life that he greatly regrets.
The colors of the illustration were chosen to evoke old photographs and dusty memorabilia through a faded and washed out color scheme. The actual shapes that make up the illustration are really simple and clearly defined, reflecting the clarity of hindsight that this person clearly possesses. The person is in a much brighter color from the rest of the illustration to further isolate him from the objects around him, and place him in the "present" while relegating the remainder of the illustration to the "past". The text "ante" in the background is the latin root for "before" and further emphasizes his fascination with the past.
