To kick off the making of our animation, we were assigned to create an animatic first. An animatic is basically like a storyboard. It's a series of pictures, in our case were hand drawn and derived from our graphic novel, that are put together in a slideshow format. Its purpose is to pre-visualize what the final animation will look like. It includes audio, panning, zooming in and out, etc. Basically, it is a very simple version of the animation. Here is mine:
