10 Things I've Learned So Far In My Life

In English, we were given an assignment called "10 Things I've Learned So Far In My Life," which basically is what it says. We had to list out ten personal things we've learned in our life that we think are important to know and is a big part of us. We were not allowed to use clichés nor anything others would have already known, so all the statements are purely orziginal and all pertain to who I am.

  1. Music is more than just sound in your ears
  2. Foreigners usually seem way cooler than they actually are
  3. Walking is a great way to find yourself
  4. It’s good to send postcards/letters once in awhile
  5. Everyone has at least one amazing story
  6. It’s okay to take your time with anything you do
  7. Be careful with hand gestures, they mean very different things to very different people
  8. Sometimes you need someone to set you straight
  9. Explore the different cultures of the world, it causes you not to be ignorant
  10. It’s good to be unplugged from the world for awhile

To make our podcasts we used Adobe Flash, and Garageband. In Garage band we learned how to create our own music, and record our voices reading our 10 statements. Once we did this, we put our media onto our podcasts using flash using the keyframe, and added in photos to go along with it as well. For my first podcast, I’m really proud of it, and I hope I can continue to make more.

English Media Piece

To add on to our 10 Things I've Learned So Far assignment, we were also asked to create a media piece that would depict one of our personal statements. For this piece we had to choose a main symbol, and I decided to use a pen. A pen is a symbol for creating destinies, which really goes well with my personal statement of "Walking is a Cathartic Way of Mapping" because it is about trying to find out who I am, and what I want to do in life.
