Screenplay and Animatic

Screenplays are the first step in creating a story, and in this case, and animation. Screenplays are aslo an adaptation of a full lenth story, for me, my short, short story. With my screenplay, I tried to create a story and character that was simple and relatable, but that went with the overall theme of my narrative projects. The screenplay is about a girl, who is complaining about boys and what a pain they are to her. She goes on giving a lesson to try to prove her point, but is then sidetracked when a boy walks by. The screenplay connects to the idea of relationships, and how we can act in these situations.

An animatic is one of the final steps taken before the final animation is created. To make and animatic, you scan in your hand drawn story boards, and slice them into individual images. After, you use flash to make a very rough cut of how your final animation will flow. Adding dialogue, sound effects, and determining the timing of each scene makes finishing the final animation much easier.
