For this project, we had to create a piece in which we combined elements of storytelling, symbolism, and text to represent a short story that we wrote in English class.
Equilibrium
My piece is about a balance of power. Usually something as big as a planet would hold back something as small as a mouse, but in my illustration, their powers are balanced. The planets in my illustration represent the power of the government, and the mouse represents the masses of people under its rule. When many small things are put together, they form a larger force. The government is usually thought of as ruling the people it governs, but the reality is that without its people's support, it would fail and collapse. The glowing strings attaching the planets to the mouse show this relationship. the planets obtain their light from the glowing mouse, but in return, some of the planets color is reflected back onto the mouse. Each of these separate entities are constantly influencing each other.
