SHORTSTORY
Our short stories were the first step in creating our animations. Mine is about an ant named Alfie, and it goes like this...
Alfie sat on the sidewalk and sighed. His ant hill had been ruined by the sprinklers for the second time that month, leaving him nowhere to go. For a while he watched the people passing him by, wondering where they were going, when his friend Freddy strolled by."Alfie, we miss you buddy," he said, holding out his arms as if to give him a hug. Alfie smiled politely and continued staring into space as Freddie rambled on about nothing. He hated listening to his speeches.
As he let his mind wander off, he suddenly had an idea."I'll build a treehouse!" he blurted out. "The sprinklers will never reach me there."
He set to work the next day, building day and night. Finally, it was finished. He stared at it in amazement. After building and building for a whole week, his masterpiece was finally completed. He walked inside and looked around, finally concluding that he had to have a party to show off his new home. He called all of his friends and family to come over and see.
When they arrived, their eyes widened. They had never seen anything like it. All night they partied, dancing and singing until they couldn't anymore. Finally, it was time to go home. As they approached the door and said their goodbyes, one of the ants noticed something strange. They had climbed the tree to get up, but it was far too steep to climb down, and there was no ladder to help them. They turned to Alfie for help, but he was just as confused as they were. He finally let out a sheepish grin and muttered,"Oops."
