An animatic is a series of still panels with rough dialogue and sound effects. This is used in preparation for the animation to test the timing of the scenes and see how each scene will look and feel.

In English, we converted our short story into a screenplay. We read about the formatting of screenplays and modeled our screenplay off of the way professional screenplays are written in the outside world. We created our animatic by combining aspects from our screenplay, graphic novel, and storyboard. Our screenplay contained notes on what we imagined our characters saying and doing while the graphic novel showed that visually. The storyboard added to this process by including thoughts about camera angles and movement in the scenes. All of this combined into the animatic.
