In Design we learned to produce a photo-narrative diptych. This is when there is two photos side by side to tell a story. The first photo shows an in which the first photograph sets up the environment and displays an insecurity or issue the photographed character while the second photograph depicted the character facing something that is forcing him/her to make a choice related to their issue, creating a "pregnant pause".

Left Alone

David was rejected by his girlfriend and never knew why. Since that incident he often isolates himself and doesn't trust anyone around him. The second picture him and his girlfriend have just came back from a party and she invites him in her bedroom for the first time. He now has the choice to give it a try despite his worries or just walk out of the room.

In the first picture, I made the background lighting red to give a creepy mood. There is also a shadow on the wall to represent his girlfriend walking away. In the second picture I made the lighting more blue to make it the opposite of the first one. I have the girl sleeping in the bed with no worried at all but then David sitting in the chair very stiff and worried about getting hurt.
