02/15/07 The Day After

The day after Valentine's Day always feels weird to me. It's like we have a 24 hour celebration for love, but after that, things just slow down in a snap. It's like we are treating love as if it is a limited source. I believe that it should at least a week.

Nothing much this week, exepct the series.

THE GREAT FALL (I've told this story so many times, I'm tired of it. So here is the last)

When I was three, I lived in a house with three levels (not including the basement). Back then, Maggie and Sam were alive. I decided to take Sam for a walk up in the second floor. I said to my mother, "I'm taking Sam for a wa". He knew the very next word I was going to say and went crazy by running down the stairs. I held onto the leash the entire time. My head hit every step and when it came to the last, I finally let go of the leash and I slide head first into the furnace. My parents rushed to my side and my mother checked for any nerological damage (God bless her for having the experience as a nurse). I was basically fine. We never went to a hospital. I had a huge bruise on my head. I must have looked like of the coneheads for at least a week.

For some people, I told them I had to go to the hospital, but I was wrong about that. But you have to admit, remembering an event like that it pretty dang impressive. Next week, you'll all see why I don't us my foot to stop doors.

This is Schaffy signing off.
