Personal Essay
This essay was assigned to us in english. We are supose to share with people something about ourselves that you might not have kown about ourselves and to epxpress ourselves with words.
My favorite place to be is theater. It’s my chance to escape reality, a brake from my otherwise dull life. It gives me conversation topics and it’s relaxing after a long week of school its the perfect thing to do. Every Saturday I wake up at 8:00 am, in the mourning and wonder whats playing this week. It’s pretty nice to wake up at 8:00, most people would say that it’s still early but that’s what I call sleeping in. I get ready by cleaning myself up, taking a shower, brushing my teeth, and combing the hair I don’t have. After I’m done doing that I’ll spend the rest of my mourning doing several different things such as reading, watching television, drawling, playing video games, and surfing the web. Then I’m out the door by 10:00-10:30. That’s when the adventure begins I head towards the theater maybe get something to drink and I head to the dark room where the creative minds of hundreds of people burst out on the screen. I always get a seat towards the front because that’s where the best view is plus no ones head is in my way and I can use the seat in front of me as a leg rest which is always nice.
Now that I’m seated I watch the ads that go on for about 10-20 min, depending on how early I am and then the trailers that are about 5-10 min. Sometime before the movie starts I’ll look behind me to see how many people there are and who’s behind me. Even though I never no anyone in the audience I still like to see who came. The trailers are coming close to an end the last ad for coke is playing personally I prefer root beer but that’s just who I am. I’m exited for the movie but I always think in my head that the trailers could go on for a little longer, for some odd reason I really like to see trailers. Now that thought has left my head and I’m prepared for the movie I see the starting credits and think to myself can they hurry this up, even though I know they wont be very long, I want the movie to start I don’t really want to wait at this point but I’m not really complaining or anything also I think it’s important for the stars to get recognition for the hard work they put into making the movie. When the movie finally starts I find that a flood of thoughts comes to me I’m constantly thinking about whats going to happen next trying to predict the next plot twist and trying to understand whats happening in the story.
When the movie is over I’ve sat through the credits and tried to memorize the musicians who performed the music in the movie. I then head off to my favorite comic book store and pick up a comic. I would have to say that its high up on my favorite places to be list. There’s lots of people there who enjoy comics like myself. It’s one of those places where being a geek is a cool thing. The selection is amazing there’s tons of things that everyone would be able to enjoy, you name it they got it they have classics, comedies, action, children, and it has one of the biggest selection of manga I’ve seen anywhere. If you saw the place you would think it’s pretty tiny but it can still carry all of the the things I mentioned and its not crammed at all. If you have ever wondered where I get a lot of my super hero tee shirt’s this is where I get them.
After that I have lunch there are lots of places to choose from but i try not to choose the same place twice in a row because then you get tired of having the same things. This is a typical Saturday for me of course there are variations of the day and schedule and there are unexpected things that happen sometimes like last Friday I went to Shakespeer in the park I was told about it at the last moment but those kind of unexpected surprises make my typical weekend even more enjoyable. The school week may be long and sometimes boring but it makes the weekend that much more enjoyable. I often think that most people would think I don’t have a life and that doing the same thing every week could be boring and repetitive but, it's actually different every week. The movies are different, and I get different comics so it can still be different every week.
