Freedom

In this peace I see freedom. Most obviously there's the freedom just in the idea of running. I also tried to emphasize that by having the runner run on sand dunes, an empty place where the runner is completely alone, but in the best and free-est way possible. This very literal freedom is mirrored in the style of the piece. The dunes are very realistic, or at least much more so then the runner. By showing the runner as much more stylized he is even free from reality in a way. However, amidst the freedom, there is also the never ending struggle for freedom. Running on sand dunes is no easy task, you always seem to slip a couple feet back for every few feet forward, a long, never ending process, much like freedom.
