The Family

mom

My mom, in front of Le Pont d'Avignon.

Mom

My mother is my rock. She supports me in everything I do, but knows when to let me make my own mistakes. She is my best friend. Unlike most teenagers, my relationship with my mom is great, and I have the most fun when I am just chilling with her, drinking our favorite MightyLeaf tea.

I can always turn to my mom when I want to talk. She is definitely the person I talk to the most. We love to go shopping and run errands together. I deeply respect my mom for her strength and resilience, as well as her compassion and empathy for others.

Love you forever Mom!

dad

Dad

If my mom is my rock, my dad would be my fire. He’s able to get me excited for just about anything and coaches me when I play soccer. He’s easygoing, laidback, and hilarious--he has the personality I wish to have once I’m his age.

My dad is the smartest person I know. He handles a lot at his work, but is always able to spend time with us. He's quiet, but his personality is not. My dad is also a big soccer fan (he has 20+ jerseys of different teams as well as 6+ pairs of cleats) and loves Beethoven. A lot of people say I look like my dad-- and to me, that's a great compliment. I love you Dad!

Thao

My brother never fails to surprise me with his startling perspectives. Whenever I complain about things, he always is able to convince me to look at things from the opposite point of view. He always introduces me to new things.

We may argue a lot, but I know that he loves me. He always encourages me, cheers me up when I'm feeling sad, but is also very honest and down to earth with me. It's nice to talk to him because he really understands my feelings. Right now, he's a computer science major, as well as being in an engineering fraternity. I couldn't ask for a better brother.
