Hello and welcome to my self-portrait website!

Hi! My name is Caitlin and this is my Self-Portrait website. I'm using this website to give you a little bit of information on who I am and how I think. Every part of this website (the projects, buttons, backgrounds, music) are all used to explain who I am. Each button shows toys a child would play with, the grey background shows my favorite color, even the toybox gives the site a child-like feeling. The music has more of a dark quality to it, hidden behind the cheerful mallet's melody.

Starting with the first few months of my Junior year at Freestyle Academy, we focused on the Self-Portrait unit. I was told to ask myself "Who am I?" and create my projects around that question. With the combined effort of readings and essays in english, drawings and pictures in design, and podcasts and dreamweaver in WebAudio, I was able to produce things such as my "Ten Things I've Learned so Far" and my personal essay with the diptych. I use AdobeIllustrator and Adobe Dreamweaver for the designs and images on this website, and DreamWeaver for the template and context. All these programs were taught to me at Freestyle Academy.

The Self-Portrait piece of my website is based off of my love for childish games and toys. The simple joys of a stuffed animal or a 20 piece puzzle are shown in the basic moving buttons, and the text being enclosed in a blue toybox. With this Self-Portrait website, i wanted to show my love for the childish and young pieces of life, and how I appreciate the things that are ma de for children.
