When creating an animation, each second counts for putting together scenes, voice acting, and all the other necessities that make them not only amazingly hard to make, but fantastic to watch. Because it takes considerable amount of time to create every scene, deep deliberation must be made over each moment to make sure its part is needed and perfect. Animators can't waste precious hours developing a scene only to find that it's too long, lacks meaning, or any other issues. So to conveniently decide a scene's worth, rough hand drawn sketches are made, sewn together through the computer, and played. Below is a petite taste of what my actual animation appears as.
