The narrative unit tested many sides of telling a story. While the animation involved creating a lengthy story full of detail, the photo narrative examined each student's ability to tell a unique tale in only two pictures. Each student had to move beyond the realm of realism and adventure into the rough waters of symbolism.

My diptych tells the story of a person who has found their passion, symbolized as a heart on fire. Yet as he spends all his time his time on his hobby, he begins to leave his social life behind. Within the second photo, the background consists of many AIM style messages that exemplify his friends' reactions to his lack of presence. I decided to write the message, "Fiends lose to Art" on top of a collage of to exemplify his choice to continue to follow his passion rather than hanging out with his friends.
